Reflections on Easter 2009

Hello, Everyone! Greetings and Blessing in the Lord be unto you!

Every Sunday, I purposely set aside some extra special time to spend with the Lord. I get the 3 translations of the Bible that I have (Amplified, NIV Scofield Reference Edition and the King James versions) and all the prayers that I have typed up and printed off. I also keep a printed copy of the visions given to me and the promises and scriptures that I have been guided to by the Holy Spirit. Part of my aggressive spiritual warfare, against the enemy of our soul, is to remind him and read out loud the promises, scriptures and visions from the One who has defeated him and won for us the victory! Glory!

Jeremiah 29:11-14

“ For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all our heart. I will be found by you”, declares the Lord.

On Good Friday, April 10, 2009, I was once again directed to this scripture. I love it and it has been one of my favorite scriptures my whole life. I also know, whenever the Holy Spirit brings it to my mind, the Lord is getting ready to bring a mighty move in my life.

The following Sunday was Easter. During my special praise, prayer and worship with the Lord, I was reading in all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) the scriptures and events leading up to the crucifixion of our Lord. I was directed to Luke 21:34-36.

Here Christ is speaking to His followers about things to come.

“ Be careful and be on guard or your hearts will be weighted down, overburdened, depressed with headaches and nausea, of self-indulgence, drunkenness, the anxieties of life or the worldly worries and cares pertaining to the business of this life” (Does this sound like most of us at some time or another during or life? I have so been there.) Jesus goes on to say “that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.”

“Always be on watch (be discreet, attentive and ready) praying that you may have the full strength and ability to escape what is about to happen or take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”

The Lord has plans for us. The defeated enemy of our soul also has plans for us. Christ is telling us how to always listen for His voice and hear Him. He has all knowledge and knows what is about to happen to us. He also knows what we need to do to get through and sometimes totally avoid what is headed our way. The enemy of our soul is always trying to keep us in a position to where we cannot hear the voice of the Lord because we are so weighted down with the junk that he has for us. The result is always the same: things close in on us and we are caught in the enemy’s trap.

I asked the Lord what He means in this passage that we may be able “to stand before the Son of Man”. The answer that I heard is this: Jesus gives us the ability and the strength to overcome the power of the enemy. We receive it from Him by spending time with Him and being in His presence. (“Be strong in the Lord, be empowered through your union with Him; draw your strength from Him, that strength which His boundless might provides.” Ephesians 6:10 AMP.)

If we are abiding in the secret place of the Most High, we can always hear His voice. It is when we are letting the enemy get into our heads and letting the busyness of this life occupy our thoughts, actions and decisions that we get ourselves into trouble and miss what the Lord is trying to say and do for us. When we allow the enemy and what he has to offer a place in our lives, his noise is screaming louder in our ears than the Lord is in our hearts. Jesus let us know that we can get the enemy out and prohibit his entrance in the first place.

Jesus is letting us know that what He did on the cross was more than what we realize. He gave Satan the final blow that sealed his destiny. Christ is totally victorious and freely gives that same victory to all those that believe in Him.

“Behold! I (Christ) have given you authority and power…and the physical and mental strength and ability over all the power the enemy possesses, and nothing shall in any way harm you.” (Luke 10:19 AMP)

Easter…Glory to God!

Prophecy- You are a Victor!

Dear Friends,
This is one of many prophetic emails that I receive from time to time. I feel the need to share it with you.
This past Sunday, we had a guest speaker at the church where I attend  http://www.wochurch.org/ . Everything that he said was just about like this email (imagine that). Our pastor (who has the most hilariously funny sense of humor) got up and said “Well, I think what we heard today should fill us up and get us through this week! You know how it is, we get all holy on Sunday then by Friday we feel like we’ve had a ringside seat at the dog-fights and we’re wearing a pork chop necklace!”
I think I was wearing the pork chop yesterday but Glory to God, Jesus set us free, we don’t have to wear the pork chop necklace or anything else that the devil tries to put on us! Just wanted to share. If you can, print it off and really, really read it through and then read it again. Let’s stay in the Word, pray without ceasing and remember Who is in control, and just Who we belong to!
In His Service,
Robbie Goodwin

Bobby Conner: “You Are a VICTOR Not A Victim – Advancing With BOLDNESS!”

By Bobby Conner
Jun 21, 2008

Every true, born-again Believer is assured the final victory on the Day of the Lord – when Christ returns to receive His own. Yet victory can also be ours between now and then if we focus on a few fundamental principles. Never forget who you are in Christ.
A Time to Be Bold and Brave
The Spirit of God is encouraging us to advance, and we must advance with boldness! Like Joshua, we are commanded to be “strong and very courageous” (Joshua 1:7), moving in power to take the Kingdom for the King! The cry has gone forth: “No hesitation!” We must rise up, walk in dominion power, and lay hold of the promises of God.
This is not a time to be weak and waffling, but a time to be bold and brave. Whatever the Lord has called us to do, He will not leave us alone to do it in our own strength. He will empower us and go before us, just as He went before the Israelites in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21).
Listen with your whole heart. Take courage! God has promised victory! He has called you to be the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). Victory is guaranteed to you because His power is greater than the world’s power:
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
We are in the end-time harvest when both the seeds of good and evil are coming to full fruition. “…the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). God is calling us to arise and take a strong stand against the works of darkness. You were created for victory. Now is the time to shake yourself and declare the proclamation found in Micah 3:8: “But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord…”
We are to possess the land which is a victory that will be accomplished by individuals, as well as by the corporate Body of Christ. The end-time Church will be a people of demonstrated power (1 Corinthians 2:1-5). It is time for the world to see a true demonstration of the power of God’s Spirit.
The cry has come up before the throne of God, “Oh, that You would rend the Heavens! That You would come down!” Isaiah 64:1
Join with the plea of Psalm 90:16-17:
“Let Your work appear to Your servants,
And Your glory to their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands.”
Advance Higher
The Church ought to be hungry and desperate to see the works of the Lord. We should long for Him to establish the works of our hands – His work in the world. I don’t know about you, but I am weary of seeing the plans and purposes of men; I long to see the mighty acts of God! The Spirit of Truth is calling for us to come into the presence of the Lord.
The way is clear. Any Believer can advance higher. God has extended an open invitation for all who will to “Come up here” (Revelation 4:1), to enter the door that is standing open in Heaven so we can see and hear more clearly. Doing so will equip us to advance ever deeper in the anointing, making the most of our divine call.
Paul instructed us to “walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16). This means to walk the clear goal and aim of fulfilling God’s divine purpose. This is not a time for us to wander around the mountain of defeat and unbelief. No! We are to lay hold of the promises of God, take Him at His Word, and stand firm in our faith.
One day God released to me this very encouraging statement: “This will be the season when My people begin to believe what they know. My Word will move from the head to the heart to the hands.”
We will become doers of the Word, not content simply to be hearers. God has destined us to walk in victory, not defeat. We are called to be overcomers, not to be overcome. Remember, God has promised that no weapon formed against you can prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Today the Body of Christ stands poised on the verge of the greatest move of God in the history of mankind. Accordingly, each of us should expect swift and radical change, swift and sure shift. We do not have the time for another trip around the mountain; we must enter into the promises of God.
No matter how confused and confounded we have been in the past, we now can personally begin to cease from our wilderness wanderings, and begin to walk in our purpose, of seeking first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33).
Come and See What God Has Done!
Paul prayed that we would “walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10).
Our highest goal must be to advance the King in His Kingdom. Our prayer each day must be, “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” There must come a swift synchronization between our walk and Heaven’s will.
Just as Christ could say, “I only do that which I see My Father doing,” we too must have clear focus. No higher commendation could be given than hearing our Father declare:
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:21
It is imperative that we maintain a deep walk in the Word of God. This will bring about the freedom we need to draw near to the Lord. We must approach His hill with clean hands and a pure heart (Psalm 24:3-4).
Each day we must seek to draw ever nearer to Christ, seeking to yield our will ever deeper to His will. It is as we truly behold Him with an unveiled face that we are changed into His likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18).
The Blood of Christ has power to set mankind free from all bondage; the choice is ours if we want to walk in freedom. In the days to come, we will see a radical return to the message of the redemptive Blood of Christ, which is able to cleanse all sin.
Christ is calling His Church today to advance on every front: to walk in the Word, in His anointing and in His power to overthrow the gates of hell and set the captives free. God extends each of us an invitation to come and see what He can do.
“Come and see what God has done, how awesome His works in man’s behalf!” Psalm 66:5
